On the eleventh day of death of former president of the Paradip Port Banik Sangha (PPBS) and chairman of the Paradip Municipality, senior BJD leader Govind Chandra Tarai, various activities were held in his memory.
On October 20, Tila Tarpan in the sea, lamps burning and worship at the temple were held. Also a tree plantation and fruits and cloths distribution among patients were organised. In the afternoon, a memorial meeting was held in the premises of the PPBS office.
A two-minute silent prayer was offered at the meeting, which was chaired by president of the PPBS Santosh Kumar Patnaik.
General secretary Debabrata Sahu, treasurer Pramod Kumar Mohapatra, Bibhuti Bhushan Mohanty, Chandra Shekhar Mohapatra, Anadi Parida, Divakar Baishakh and Surya Kant Sahu among others attended at the memorial meeting and paid homage.
