A group of intellectuals and Sarpanches held a meeting for establishment of a Plus Three college here at the earliest.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of educationist Loknath Acharya was attended by Bhapur Junior College Principal Gagan Tripathy, retired teacher Jagannath Barik, senior journalist Rabindra Kumar Patnaik, Bhapur Sarapanch Prasanna Kumar Nayak, Fategarh Sarpanch Tofan Kumar Pradhan, Golapokhari Sarpanch Laxmidhar Samantray, social worker and BJD youth leader Jitendra Kumar Ranasingha, educationist and proposed Degree College Committee president Prafulla Kumar Lenka, secretary Deepak Kumar Barad and social worker Jugal Kishore Sahoo.
The members discussed about progress of proposals made in the earlier meetings. It was resolved that all members would cooperate for acquisition of land and collection of funds for establishment of the proposed college.
Students of 11 gram panchayats would benefit if a degree college is opened at Bhapur.
