Meet on Tata CSR activities in Joda held

A meeting was held last week between Tata Steel, Joda chief Mukesh Ranjan and councillors of the Joda Municipality to review the CSR activities of the company.

The councillors expressed their dissatisfaction over non-implementation of CSR activities of the Tata Steel in Joda town. The company is not carrying out any CSR activities in Joda though it is lifting 12 million tonnes of iron ores from the area.

However, the company chief said the company is ready to carry out CSR activities as per the agreement, but the main problem is that the civic body is yet to provide No-Objection Certificate (NOC) for commencing work on Government land.

Ranjan gave out the details of various community developmental works like provision of technical skill training to local youths undertaken by the company. He also said the company would clean the Sona river within six months.
