Meet Heads of Depts staffs’ demands: Pradhan to CM

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday wrote to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik seeking the latter’s intervention to end the strike by members of the Odisha Heads of Departments Section Officers’ Association and the Odisha Heads of Departments Ministerial Officers’ Association.

Pradhan’s letter to the

CM followed the former’s receipt of a petition from the two associations with a request for immediate implementation of new cadre restructuring norms for the concerned employees.

The Union Minister said it is stated in the letter that the new norms were approved by the CM on April 16, but the associations allege that the directives issued have not been complied with by the administration.

“The members are still working as Junior Assistants, Senior Assistants, Section Officers, Establishment Officers and Senior Establishment Officers in the Heads of the Departments. They wanted their cadre to be restructured and convert their posts to Assistant Administrative Officers (AAO), Joint Administrative Officers, Administrative Officers, Senior Administrative Officers, Chief Administrative Officers-I and Chief Administrative Officers-II and AAO should be the entry level post,” Pradhan said in the letter to Patnaik.

The associations have decided for an indefinite stir until their demands are met, which would adversely impact the administration and cripple the governance, the Union Minister said, requesting Patnaik to resolve the issue on top priority.
