A special meeting for voter identity card correction as well as a training programme was held at the Sdababana Bhawan here on Monday. The Sub-Collectors of Baleswar Sadar and Nilgiri and the BDOs, the tehsildars and the executive officers of NACs and municipalities of the district attended the meeting.
The voter lists had been displayed in each booth on September 15 and the objections on the lists would be received till October 14. The modified lists would be prepared keeping in view the eligibility by Jan 1, 2017.
The meeting stressed on holding booth-level officers’ meetings and coordination among the booth-level agents and awareness programmes. While the correction, amendment and modification of the lists would be made in all booths across the district. There are 16,54,781 eligible voters in 1,777 booths in the district, officials said.
