'Meet Anganwadi staffs' demands immediately'

The BJP Mahila Morcha, Ganjam district, through a memorandum submitted to the Brahmapur Sub-Collector, urged the State Government to fulfil all legitimate demands of the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers who have been sitting on dharna in the State capital for the last 37 days.

Saffron party leaders alleged that while Anganwadi Workers and Helpers have been sitting on a dharna for long, the State Government has played a cheap politics with them by taking some women in Anganwadi dress as real Anganwadi Workers and announcing a meagre increase in their remuneration.

“Anganwadi Workers and Helpers are not happy with the announcement of a paltry increase in their monthly salaries. They are still sitting on a dharna. As they are associated with implementation of various welfare programmes, including supplementary malnutrition, the State Government shouldn’t take lightly of their legitimate demands,” said the memorandum.

Among others, Banaja Panda, Babita Patro, Sujata Bisoyi, Dr Namita Panda, Prabhasini Sahu, Pravati Panigrahy, Suhsila Mallick and Binodini Das were in the team that submitted the memorandum.
