The Vigilance police on Monday caught Dr Bipin Bihari Sahoo, Sub-Divisional Medical Officer (SDMO) of Rairkhol Sub-Divisional Hospital in Sambalpur district, red-handed for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,500.
Sahoo had demanded the bribe from complainant Soumya Ranjan Pradhan of Rairakhol for a hydrocele operation of his uncle.
Sahoo’s residential houses at Sonepur and Majhipali in Sambalpur district were searched by the Vigilance. Later, the accused was arrested and forwarded to court.
