The Brahmapur Municipal Corporation (BMC) organised a friendly cricket match between the Corporators and mediapersons in observance of the upcoming local Self-Government Day at the Brahmapur Stadium here on Friday.
The media team won the match by eight wickets. The Corporator 11 won the toss and decided to bat first. They scored 87 runs for eight wickets in the allotted 15 over. For the Media 11, Shaktidhar Rajguru in his last over took three wickets, while Buji bagged two wickets Gopal Reddy got one wicket.
In reply, the Media 11 scored the required runs in 13.2 over losing two wickets. Hemant Balua scored 29 runs and Shaktidhar Rajguru scored an unbeaten 30 runs. For the Corporator 11, BMC Deputy Commissioner Sourendra Kumar Routray took two wickets.
While Routray was the captian for Corporator 11, Prakash Patnaik was the captain for the Media 11.
