The Mahanadi Coalfields limited (MCl) is determined to meet the highest standards of safety norms by introducing new technology in mining operations, said CMD Anil Jha at the 22nd Company level Tripartite Safety Committee meeting held here on Saturday.
At the meeting presided over by senior trade union leader and OCMlF general secretary (HMS) KC Patra, Jha asked the MCl miners to show highest degree of alertness while working in the coal mines. “We have to ensure that the year 2016 records zero accident in our mines. No stone will be left unturned to meet the highest standards of safety norms to ensure the mining operation at ‘zero harm level’,” the CMD said.
Asserting that coal mining is a hazardous occupation, Jha said “the company will introduce new technology to make coal mining a safe and technology-driven business”.
Appreciating the positive contributions made by the workers’ representatives, the CMD said the points and suggestions received from all stakeholders participating in the discussion would be considered for implementation.
