The Mahanadi Coalfields limited (MCl) has entered villages to educate people about cleanliness as a way to progress through an Odia street play “Pragati Pathe” on the outskirts of Burla town in Dhankuda block in Sambalpur district.
Observing a cleanliness fortnight since June 16, the company has focused on outskirt areas of small towns in its command area to create awareness among people on clean and pollution-free environment for a healthy life.
A street play in Sambalpuri dialect scripted by Dr Samar Mudali and was being performed by the artists of Sambalpur Universty’s Performing Arts Department to touch vitals issues of cleanliness.
“It was really entertaining and thought provoking play presented by MCl and we are thankful for organising such an informative play”, said Sankar Pradhan a resident of Gaoun Burla village who watched the play.
