The building of the Tingismal Primary School under lakhanpur block in Jharsuguda will be demolished for expansion of the MCl coalmines in lakhanpur. For this, the MCl lakhanpur Area CGM has urged the district administration for immediate shifting of the school to the nearby Kudaloi UG ME School. Jharsuguda Collector B Parmeshwaran has also directed the District Project Coordinator of Sarva Shiksha Abhayan to take immediate step in this regard. According to the MCl authorities, a total of 1,245.35 acres of land at Tingismal village has been acquired by the MCl for mining purpose, and expansion of the lakhanpur Open Cast Mine is in progress. As the school is around 300 meter from the mines, shifting it is necessary in view of safety and security of children.
