In a step towards corporate social responsibility (CSR), the MCl has come forward to finance an upcoming super specialty heart hospital at Malimunda in Jharsuguda district.
In a special function, MCl CMD AN Sahay laid the foundation stone for the hospital on Saturday. Assuring to bear the cost of the hospital, initially Sahay handed over a cheque of Rs12 crore to Sub-Collector BN Dhal.
Among the dignitaries present were Bargarh MP Dr Pravas Singh, Jharsuguda MlA Naba Kishore Das, Brajrajnagar MlA Radharani Panda, District Collector Parameswaran B, MCl Director (Finance) KK Parida, Director (Personnel) PC Panigrahi and Jharsuguda Municipality Chairman Harish Ganatra.
A colourful cultural programme was organised with the opening song by Railway Cultural Association.
Jharsuguda MlA Naba Kishore Das expressed his gratitude to MCl for helping in construction of a heart hospital at Jharsuguda by giving Rs12 crore initially.
Congress leaders BS Pati,Sidharth Sarkar,Pintu Padhi and Eswar Rao were present.
