A CBI team on Thursday arrested Dr Raj Kishore Sahoo of the Central Hospital, IB Valley Area of MCl in Brajraj Nagar in a bribery case.
He was caught red-handed while receiving Rs 8,000 for issuing a medical fitness certificate in favour of the complainant.
The complainant required a medical fitness certificate to apply for a job in the MCl after demise of his father who was an employee in the MCl and had approached Dr Sahoo. However, Sahoo demanded Rs 10,000for the same and later settled for Rs 8,000.
Searches of the residence and office premises of Sahoo were in progress and an investigation was on.
