Following the approval of the Medical Council of India (MCI), two more Post-Graduate seats have been added to the SCB Medical College here. One PG seat each has been added to the Departments of Urology and Hematology, sources said.
The MCI has, however, rejected the proposal of the State Government to open a PG seat in the Department of Clinical Hematology due to absence of trained specialists and required infrastructure. Following the refusal, doubts have been raised over the functioning of the newly-set-up Bone Marrow Transplant unit in the department.
