In a freak accident, a youth sustained bullet injuries during a firing practice by Odisha Special Armed Police (OSAP) 5th Battalion personnel at Kumbharamundakata panchayat under Bangiriposhi block in Mayurbhanj district on Friday.
The victim was identified as laxman Singh of Mundabani village. He was rushed to the Mayurbhanj District Headquarters Hospital and underwent a surgery, sources said.
The stray bullet hit laxman while he was taking bath.Tension was triggered in the area following the incident as political party activists and locals staged a road blockade on NH-18 at Budhamara Square by burning tyres.
