The Mayurbhanj unit of the Youth Congress (YC) on Saturday vehemently protested against the recent price-hike of lPG cylinders.
As a mark of protest over the issue, Youth Congress members led by district Youth Congress president Rakesh Singh burnt effigies of Prime Minister Narandra Modi and Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at Traffic Square of Baripada town.
The BJP-led Union Government is anti-consumer and anti-poor, the slogan-shouting Congress workers alleged.
Prominent among those who attended the programme were Mayurbhanj DCC president Pradeep Rath and senior party leaders Hemant Das, Jyoti Prakash Rath, Arabind Das, Ajay Mohapatra and Pradeep Mishra.
