A newly-elected sarpanch in Mayurbhanj district has come under an acid attack following the recent panchayat poll results.
The victim is Hadibandhu, the elected Sarpanch of Saraskana Jharapokharia gram panchayat.
According to reports, miscreants threw acid on Hadibandhu while he was sleeping at his home on Saturday night. He was admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital at Baripada.
The miscreants fled the spot after committing the crime. Political vendetta was suspected to be the reason behind the incident.
