The Ganjam district Congress on Friday organised a bike rally here demanding resignation of Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena for his alleged complicity in sex video and ‘murder’ of engineering student Ashutosh Mohanty alias Rishi.
Party activists led by district president Bhagaban Gantayat went to the Sub-Collector’s office and handed over a memorandum addressed to Governor SC Jamir in this regard. The party too demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged link of the controversial pornographic CD with Rish’s murder.
Among others, PCC general secretary Bikram Panda and secretary Rajendra Kumar Jena, Tumbanath Panda, Durga Prasad Panda, town Congress president Sanjit Panigrahi and Ajit Panda participated in the rally.
Similarly, party Hinjili block unit submitted a memorandum, addressed to the Governor, to the BDO with the same demands. Block Congress president Padma Charan Sahu, among others, submitted the memorandum.
