The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) is all set to publish the matriculation examination-2013 results by the end of this month. Sources in the BSE office here said the results have been tabulated and finalised.
Steps are on to print the result booklets and upload them in a new website supported by the NIC within a day or two, the source added.
When contacted, BSE Secretary Ramakrushna Sahu confirmed this on Thursday but added that in case the results are not published by the end of the month, they would be declared in the first week of May.
“We have not yet decided the exact date of making the results public, but we are making all-out efforts to announce the results in seven days,” he said.
Nearly 5.32 lakh students wrote the examinations in the Regular stream and another 50,000 appeared in the Ex-Regular stream this year. Besides, a little over 5,000 students appeared in the Sanskrit stream called the Madhyama.
The BSE has decided to hold the Supplementary examinations by the end of May or in the first week of June and declare the results in a month so that the students who would clear the Supplementary examinations could take admissions in Plus II immediately without losing a valuable year.
Sahu also informed that in accordance to the Government decision, the BSE this year would not publish the top hundred lists and there would be no rank holders as was the practice earlier.
“Either a student is passed in first, second or third division or he/she is failed subject to clearance of results in ‘withheld’ list,” he said.
Sahu said a student can access the results either purchasing a result booklet or through internet and SMS. The results would be made public in the BSE office here and at five zonal offices.
“We are also planning to announce the results in some selected schools and every school will also get the results of its students from the BSE office itself or from the zonal offices,” he added.
