A greener environment has good effects not only on human beings but also on the entire bird and animal communities.
However, industrialisation, road widening works and other construction works are causing warmer global temperature, said Prerana chief Dr Dillip Shrichandan on the occasion of the observance of the Earth Day organised by the body here on Friday.
In order to effectively address global warming, massive plantation drive must be taken up by one and all, said Shrichandan.
Utkal University NSS programme coordinator Dr Manoranjan Mohanty, Council of Higher Secondary Education Programme Coordinator Dr Ananta Kishore Jena, BJB Autonomous College professor Kartik Jena joined the event and called upon everyone to plant trees at their levels. Besides, a procession was taken out followed by a plantation drive.
