A woman estranged from her husband and mother of four children was killed by her lover in Rajpur Turapara in Jharsuguda district on Saturday.
The victim Mamata (32) had married Gunara Turi in Kabrapali village in Sambalpur in 2003. But last year, she left her husband with her four children and came to her father’s village.
In last 30 days, quarrel erupted between Mamata and her lover laxman Duan. Mamata alleged that laxman was interested in another woman.
On Saturday when Mamata’s father was not at home, an altercation broke out between Mamata and laxman. laxman attacked Mamata with a bamboo stick and killed her.
Mamata’s neighbours informed the Brajrajnagar PS about the incident. laxman was arrested and Mamata’s body was sent for postmortem.
