Setting an example of true dedication in life for others, Gopimohan Patnaik, a city resident, on Saturday celebrated his marriage anniversary by holding a blood donation camp in which his friends and relatives donated 50 units of blood.
“I have been observing marriage anniversary by holding blood donation camps since 2005. This is an attempt to save lives of children suffering from thalassemia,” said Patnaik, who along with wife Ashalata, observed their 25th marriage anniversary at the Mangala Mandap at Siripur.
The 50 units of blood donated by Patnaik’s family members, friends and relatives were handed over to the Capital Hospital Blood Bank. Patnaik’s father Madan Mohan Patnaik had inaugurated the camp
Gopimohan donated blood for 131st time on Saturday. He has already noted blood plate late for 16th time. Social activists Sushant Sahu, Chandan Adhikari and Swapnamanjari lenka provided their supports in managing the camp.
