Market Building eviction deferred

A day after the permanent vendors of Market Building gheraoed the Capital police station protesting the unauthorised vendors inside their premises, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday decided to convene a meeting of representatives of Vendors’ Association on July 20.

It was decided that no unauthorised vendors will enter the Market Building premises till then. 

The joint eviction team of consisting of BMC, BDA and Commissionerate Police on Wednesday rushed to the Market Building to evict unauthorised vendors. But after reaching the spot the vendors held discussion with the eviction team. It was decided that a meeting would be held on July 20 on the issue and till then no unauthorised vendors will enter the Market Building premises.

After the decision the unauthorsied vendors vacated the spot spontaneously. later team evicted encroachments around the market building area.
