BJD MlA from Baripada (ST) constituency Sananda Marandi was on Monday elected as the Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly.
Marandi, who had been the Deputy Speaker in the previous 14th Assembly, was elected by voice vote on a proposal moved by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. “I express my gratitude to the Chief Minister for reposing faith in me by choosing me for the post of Deputy Speaker for a second time,” said Marandi.
