In a gruesome incident, Maoists killed a villager, suspecting him to be a police informer at Katapali village under the Maithili police station in Malkangiri district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Budara Khilamali. The Maoists slit his throat and dumped his dead body near the village.
According to sources, a group of Maoists had taken away Budara on Saturdaynight to attend a Praja Court. However on Sunday morning, his dead body was recovered by villagers from a forest near the village. Handwritten Maoist posters were found from the spot, added the sources.
