Maoists on Sunday night killed a villager near Telerai Square in Malkangiri district for his alleged involvement in anti-Maoist activities.
The deceased was identified as Gurumurti Madhi and abducted by the ultras on August 15.
The villagers found the bullet-ridden body of Gurumurty in the early morning.
According posters found near the spot, Gurumurti was allegedly inciting Maoists to surrender before police. Therefore, the ultras killed him, poster said.
Police, however, said the body of the deceased would be brought to Kalimela hospital for post mortem after which it would be handed over to the family members.
