The Maoists again went on the rampage in Malkangiri district and damaged a pipeline of the Essar Steel carrying iron dust near Palankarai under Ralegada panchayat in the cutoff Chitrakonda region on Friday.
The Red rebels snapped the pipeline laid from Kirandala of Chhattisgarh to Visakhapatnam, thereby disrupting the company’s operations.
Notably, residents in cut-off area have been deserting their homes after getting threats from Maoists.
Three members of a family from Jantri village had to vacate their house after the ultras threatened them in a kangaroo court. Suspecting one of the members of the family to be police informer, other members were warned by the rebels to ask their son to quit the job or else face dire consequences.
