Maoists blew up a portion of newly-constructed road connecting Bicharapakhna and Hantalaguda in the Swabhiman area in Malkangiri district on Saturday evening.
The Red rebels carried out the explosion through a remote-controlled device. However, no one was injured in the incident.
Sources said CRPF personnel have intensified their operations following the landmine blast.
Earlier in the day, Security Advisor in Home Ministry K Vijay Kumar had visited the Swabhiman area to review the security situation.
Notably, Maoists have been opposing the construction of the Bicharapakhna-Hantalaguda road.
