Appearance of Maoist posters in three tribal villages of the district has triggered panic in the region. The posters put up by the CPI(Maoist) asked the locals not to cooperate with the police and paramilitary forces.
The posters were put up at the Anganwadi centres of Muniguda and Rajulguda village and at various intersections, shops and trees in Bhuriskhma village.
“Maoists have been fighting for freedom and rights of the tribals. However, the police and CRPF personnel are polluting the minds of innocent tribal children against the Red rebels by bribing them with money and mobile phones,” the posters read.
“They are trying to create differences among Maoists and tribals with an intention to weaken the Niyamgiri protest,” the posters said.
Notably, the police and security forces have time to time conducted interactive sessions with the locals in the Maoist-infested areas and have distributed reading materials, toys to the children and also gifted clothes and other accessories to the people to wean them from the Maoist fold.
