After a few days lull, the Maoists are back to their old ways of violence in Malkangiri district. They on Saturday night abducted two villagers in the district on the suspicion that they were police informers.
Sources said five Maoists wearing police uniforms came to Mahupadar village under the Maithali police station in the district and abducted the two villagers after threatening locals at gunpoint. They warned the villagers not to pass any information about them to the police or else face dire consequences. The terrified locals remained tightlipped about the incident.
A couple of days ago, Maoists had torched a mixture machine at Papermetla in the cutoff region of the district.
