In another success in the anti- Maoist operations, the BSF, SOG and DVF recovered a huge cache ammunition from a rebel hideout in the Swabhiman Anchal of Malkangiri district.
The operation launched in Arapadar-Andrapalli villages in Swabhiman Anchal under the Jodambo police station, led to unearthing of the Maoist hideout along with seizure of huge quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives.
About 148 rounds of ammunition, 14 grenades, two landmines and other articles were seized from the camp. The police suspect that the explosives were stockpiled by the Red rebels to target security forces. “This is a major setbacl to the subversive and anti-national designs of Maoists in this area.
We are suspecting that these arms and ammunitions belonged to the Maoists cadres of AOBSZC and they were intended to be used against innocent civilians and security forces to carry out their subversive, anti-national activities.
In the wake of recovery, further combing and search operations are going on in this area,” said Malkangiri SP Rishikesh Khillar.
