The Maoists are carrying out their Jana Sampark Abhiyaan at nearby forest villages under Ambavona block of Bargarh district on the occasion of their celebration of Sahid Week from July 28 to August 3.

In their public relations drive, they have conducted a series of meetings with the public and appealed them to join hands with them. They wanted to know from the locals about the corrupt officials, politicians and contractors and present situation of the block. Meanwhile, combing operations have been launched at the forest areas under Ambavona police station limits. The concerned villagers expressed happiness where as the corrupted officers, politicians and contractors are a scared lot after hearing the Maoists presence in the block, sources said.

The Forest employees out of fear are not entering into lakhanpur and Dechua jungle. Security has been tightened at lakhanpur IRB, Dungari police out post and Ambavona and even boarder areas of Chhatishgarh.

On April 8, 2014, the Red rebels had burnt a contractor’s camp at lakhanpur. They had looted arms and kidnapped three Forest personnel at lakhanpur forest office on March 31 this year. They had also burnt a Kendu leaf store room at Gourpali under Ambavona block.
