Maoist Sabyasachi to fight election

Odisha’s top Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda, who is presently lodged in the Brahmapur Jail, is all set to contest the forthcoming 2019 general elections.

His wife Subhashree alias Mili Panda said Sabyasachi is mentally prepared to contest the 2019 polls. But he would not contest on any party’s ticket; rather, he would contest as an Independent candidate. He would contest from any constituency in the State, she said.

She further said her husband hasn’t been convicted in any of the cases lodged against him so far. So, there is no problem in his contesting in elections.
