A court in Nayagarh district on Tuesday acquitted Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda of treason charges.

The Nayagarh District and Sessions Court acquitted Panda of two treason charges levelled against him by the Nayagarh police, sources said.

last year, the Brahmapur Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) had acquitted Panda in a case registered against him under the Arms Act at the Gosani Nuagaon police station four years ago as the prosecution failed to prove the charges against the accused in the case.
