In a joint operation, the local police, DVF, SPO and CRPF near the Pakri Forest of Srirampur under the Kotagarh police station on Friday, various Maoist materials including a Tiffin box containing explosives, a bulletproof jacket, 25 9mm live ammunitions, a uniform and 150 gram of iron pieces were seized, said Kandhamal SP JN Pankaj.
However, no Maoist was arrested . The police have been recovering explosives particularly in this area at regular intervals. So, Maoist activities have not diminished and more action seems to be required to curb the ultras’ presence on the Ganjam-Gajapati-Kandhamal borders, sources said.
