Maoist commander Chinnabai was killed in an exchange of fire between Red rebels and security forces at the Kapatuti forest under the Chitrakonda police limits on the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border early on Saturday morning, informed Malkangiri district SP Mitrabhanu Mohapatra.
Huge caches of explosives and Maoist materials were seized from the spot after the gun battle, the SP further said.
A search operation in the area was on till last reports came in.
