Maoist leader Ajay dubs Panda arrest a drama

Published on:

Communist Party of India (Maoist) State Committee spokesperson Ajay on Wednesday issued a statement criticising Odisha Maobadi Party chief Sabyasachi Panda for “creating a stage” for his arrest by the police.

Ajay dubbed the arrest as a drama enacted by the police late on July 17 night in a house in Brahmapur. “It was purely a farce not an arrest,” said Ajay in the letter.

The Maoist leader said Panda had secretly surrendered before the police and now is acting as an informer for the security personnel and Intelligence Bureau (IB). Notably, Panda was the secretary of CPI(Maoist) Odisha State Committee before leaving the party.
