Police on Saturday arrested hardcore Maoist Jayaram Khilla, who was involved in the assassination of TDP Araku MLA Kidari Sarvewara Rao and former MLA Siberi Soma in Andhra Pradesh.
A resident of Tala Kandapalli village under the Padwa police station, Khilla was also involved in killing of sarpanch Jagannath Khara in Hatibari village and torching of road construction equipments.
The Maoist was booked under several Sections of IPC, UAP and Arms Act.
The accused will be produced in a local court in the sarpanch murder case.
Khilla will be handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for further interrogation in connection with the killings of two political leaders, police said.
