The situation of Maoist-affected Koraput and Malkangiri districts is improving, said BSF ADG KK Sharma after visiting the districts on Thursday.
Sharma said the situation in these districts is now comparatively better than previous years. “We will continue aggressive operations in the lWE (leftwing Extremism) areas to gradually increase our area of domination,” he added.
He later met Chief Secretary GC Pati in Bhubaneswar and discussed about the present lWE situation in the State. He requested Pati to provide some facilities to the BSF jawans engaged in the State. “The Chief Secretary assured me to look into the matter,” Sharma said.
