Security forces have seized a cache of arms and ammunitions while busting a Maoist camp at Patdhara near the Chhattisgarh border in Nuapada district.

The Nuapada police received intelligence inputs from reliable sources about a huge camping of members of CPI(Maoist) in the Patdhara Reserve Forest under Sinapali and Boden blocks of Nuapada district.

The tipoffs indicated that the Red rebels had gathered to plan various strategies against the security forces and carry out subversive activities. A joint combing operation was carried out by security forces of SOG, DVF and CRPF on June 27. Two days later, the forces unearthed the Maoist camp under Sinapali block. During the searches, the security personnel seized ammunitions including a hand grenade, Maoist literature, Maoist uniform, radio, solding iron, battery, haversack among other things.

Official sources said the combing operation was underway.
