A Maoist camp was busted by CRPF Jawans in the Tuluba forest in Niyamgiri Hills under Kalyansinghpur block of the district on Thursday. While carrying out a combing operation, the CRPF personnel unearthed the Maoist camp and seized 15 detonators, 15 gelatine sticks and a tiffin bomb from the spot.
However, there was no trace of any Maoist in the area. It is suspected that the rebels somehow managed to get wind of the raid by security forces and fled from the spot.
Meanwhile, combing operations were intensified in the area following the incident.
Earlier on February 17, CRPF Jawans had busted a Maoist camp near Gandhamardan hill in the Patnagarh area of Balangir district and seized transistors, switch, wire, magazine pouch and walkie-talkie sets from the spot.
