Maoist bandh hits communication

Published on:

Protesting against police excesses on the innocent people, members of the Bansadhara-Ghumusar-Nagabali division of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) observed a bandh in the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati and Kandhamal on Thursday.

During the bandh, the Maoists, issuing posters, demanded immediate steps to check violence against women, curb price rise and stringent action against the top Government officials involved in the Rayagada teacher Itishree Pradhan murder case.

Due to the bandh, road communication was hit in the districts, though life was normal, sources said.
