Even though the State Government is implementing various schemes for people’s welfare, many posts in the Government offices at Tarbha are lying vacant. This has hit governance badly and many officers have been given additional charge.
local intellectuals have questioned the efficiency of local MlA and Assembly Speaker Niranjan Pujari in taking steps for filling up the vacancies. On Thursday, Tarbha BDO Prasanna Pande is leaving for Bhubaneswar for administrative training for which the BDO, Tehsildar and NAC Executive posts officer posts would be vacant as besides the BDO post he was given the additional charge of Tehsidar and NAC EO posts.
However, Sonepur BDO Anniruddha Padhan in now the in-charge Tarbha BDO, Additional Tehsildar Sachhitananda Hanumaan is now the in-charge Tehsildar and Sub-Collector office Revenue Officer Anand Panda was given the additional charge of Tarbha NAC EO. This was revealed from Collector’s letter No 3766 on April 24, 2017. In 2016, the students had faced innumerable problems in availing caste and residency proof certificates as the Tehsildar post was vacant. The irate students had held a demonstration before the Tehsildar’s office to protest against it.
The students in a meeting have threatened that if the vacant posts are not filled up soon, they would oppose Niranjan Pujari’s upcoming inauguration programme in Tarbha NAC and block, said student leader Srikumar Mahanta.
