The Naikenpali CHC under Subarnapur district is a block headquarters hospital in which people of 10 gram panchayats of Tarbha and Subarnapur blocks depend but sadly, the hospital is in a comma due to staff crunch.
About 30 km away from Subranapur, the doctors are not staying here, although they are getting fat salary compared to others as they are working in KBK interior area.
There are no specialist doctors in medicine, paediatric and gynaecology departments while 108 ambulance service is in a limbo in the hospital. But the CHC in-charge is trying hard to meet the target of delivery cases and family planning related cases by hook or crook.
Due to manpower crunch in the hospital, people are not interested to come for delivery or any major case. However, higher authorities are pressurising the Asha and female health workers to meet the target. To add insult to injury, the female health workers under the CHC have not got their salary since last for months. The locals have demanded appointment of specialist doctors in the hospital and improvement in overall services.
