The Department of Sanskrit of the Maniabandha Junior College observed the World Sanskrit Day on Tuesday.
Under the chairmanship of college Principal Bijaya Kumar Parida, the meeting was attended by president of Baikuntha Sahitya Sansad of Badamba Pandit Surya Narayan Mishra and Prof Adwaita Kumar Panda as chief guest and chief speaker, respectively.Students Rahul Patra, Arpita Sahoo, Puspanjali Patra, Baisakshi Jena, Kalpana Barik, Stitimugdha Acharya, Sandhyarani Sahoo, Durgadevi Pradhan, Smrutimayee Dash, Minati Pradhan, Subhasmita Prusty and Kalpana Paul recited Sanskrit slokas and delivered speeches in Sanskrit language.
The guests spoke on the importance and relevance of the day. The Head of Department coordinated the programme while lecturer Khageswar Mohapatra introduced the guests and Santosh Kumar Beura offered a vote of thanks.
