The Manav Adhikar Suraksha Manch’s in its 58th phase of the Ghanta Yatra (cymbal beating rally)  has demanded that the Health Minister take stringent action against the doctors who are flouting the rules of the ‘Nidan Scheme’ and who are absent during the work hours.

The members alleged that an Associate Professor of the MKCH Medical College Hospital Surgery Department is flouting the provisions of the scheme and is forcing patients to go a private hospital for diagnostic services.

It might be mentioned that the State Government is implementing the ‘Nidan Scheme’ to provide the diagnostic services including the MRI, CT Scan, X-Ray and others free of cost to all patients in the public health facilities.

They also alleged that five doctors have been appointed in the Blood Bank but are remaining absent most of the time and running their own business in their own private hospitals. They also alleged that the doctors are looting lakhs of rupees in name of salaries even if they are not present in duty hours.
