A family from Andhra Pradesh which had recently come to Odisha was forced to tow their daughter’s body in a trolley for last rites after no one came forward to help them in Muniguda in Rayagada district. The deceased was suffering from epilepsy since childhood and died on Tuesday morning. The family staying at Dubeysahi did not have any friends and relatives and had to carry the body in the trolley rickshaw for funeral.
The visual of father-son taking the body of the girl in this manner sent shock waves across the State and raised questions about the lack of support for migrants coming from outside the State.
