A land dispute took a violent turn when a man was allegedly beaten to death by some locals at Sahaspur village under the Jajpur Sadar police station on Sunday.
The deceased was identified Prashant Kumar Jena.According to reports, a land dispute was prevailing between Jena and some of the villagers. The issue was resolved at police station around two months ago.
However, some villagers attacked Jena in the morning when he had gone to attend nature’s call. Though his family members rescued him and rushed him to the District Headquarters Hospital, he was declared dead by doctor. Police have sent body for postmortem and began an investigation.
