A diploma holder, Chhatish Kumar Pandey (35), received 65 per cent burn injuries after coming in contact with a high-tension line in the Rourkela Steel Plant’s Traffic Department Part-II on Monday morning.
Pandey was working on behalf of the Unilar, a private company. He has been admitted in the IGH in critical condition. CITU leader Basant Nayak alleged that the RSP management has been engaging contractors in different sites to control costs.
On the other hand the contractors are engaging young boys without safety training and safety measures. That is why accidents are happening frequently in RSP, he alleged.
