The city police on Tuesday arrested a youth here on the charge of killing his wife by strangulation. According to the police, one Debi Prasad Tripathy (32) has confessed that he murdered his wife Pragyan Paramita on Monday night at their Badambadi residence. “Preliminary investigation revealed that the couple had an estranged relationship and were at loggerheads ever since their marriage. The inquest of the body too suggests that the cause of the death could be strangulation,” said ACP Seetaram Satapathy. While Tripathy is working in a private bank, his wife was a State Government employee, police said, adding that further investigations are on as the deceased’s family alleges involvement of some more persons in the incident.
